Texas voters are telling us the top issues they want to see the governor tackle including:

  1. Keeping our schools and communities safe from gun violence
  2. Reducing inflation and curbing the rise in prices
  3. Improving Texas schools and education
  4. Preserving women’s freedom to make their own health care decisions
  5. Making health care more affordable

English-speaking voters to see the following messages before choosing their next governor at the ballot box this November. For Spanish-speaking voters, please see below.

Preserving women’s freedom to make their own health care decisions

Beto O’Rourke believes all Texans deserve the freedom to make their own decisions about their own body, their own health care, and their own future. O’Rourke will fight back against Texas’ extreme abortion ban that criminalizes abortion even in cases of rape or incest. O’Rourke will stand with Texas women and will fight to get them back their reproductive freedom.

Jobs & Healthcare for Hardworking Texas

Beto believes Texans are hard-working people who deserve financial stability. Beto supports expanding Medicaid to create nearly 300,000 jobs, reduce property taxes, bring $100 billion of federal Medicaid money back to Texas every year, and ensure all Texans can afford to see a doctor.

Invest in Texas Schools

Greg Abbott has defunded public schools, leaving teachers underpaid and students falling behind. Beto will fully fund our public schools, raise teacher pay to match other states, and stop the over-reliance on high-stakes standardized testing. To set Texas children up for success, we need a governor who will invest in our schools and public education.

Keeping our schools and public places safe from gun violence

From Uvalde to San Antonio to El Paso, every day, we lose more Texans to gun violence, and it’s time to act. Beto O’Rourke knows that we can protect the Second Amendment and protect our fellow Texans by making a few basic changes – raising the age for firearm purchases in Texas to 21, closing background check loopholes, and investing in more accessible mental health care.

Every major issue that’s on the table impacts Latinos the most. Here’s what we need our Spanish-speaking neighbors in Texas to see and hear before the end of the election.

Quality Education in Texas

Every child deserves a quality education. It’s a human right. We must commit to fully fund our public schools and pay our teachers what they are worth, so that our teachers, students and parents in our state have the best schools and in turn, the best jobs in America.

Freedom to make her own decisions about her own body

Every woman deserves the freedom to make her own decisions about her body. In Texas, we need to repeal the anti-choice law and increase Medicaid coverage for pregnant women to receive health care.

Prevent more tragedies like Uvalde

To prevent more tragedies like the massacre of children in Uvalde, we need to repeal the concealed carry law and push for common sense solutions that will protect the Second Amendment and our children and families.
